There will Be a Time
There will be a time
in sixty or ninety years or more
when someone will wonder how we were
and what we wore,
just like we imagine now
what it was like all those years ago.
Each one of us uniquely passing by
walking a path, moving the air
and leaving an aura imprinted there,
which will never again occur
in the space where we once were.
Perhaps someone will touch
the buckle of your belt
or your dusty old jacket on a chair
or see an old photo of you standing where
one can muse upon your life
and the story of how you talked and walked
back then,
knowing that they will not see you again.
But you and I were there
We passed this way hand in hand
We made our long- vanished footprints in the sand
And so, it was Love
Surely undying even though we are now gone,
As within the faded echoes
And faint murmurs
in the gentle breeze
in a hundred years time, we will still live on.
A lovely poem. I would like to read the poem in a video post on TikTok with just your post photo and caption it? Would that be okay?
